About Us

My photo
Mike and I have been married for 10 years now, and luckily we still like each other! We've been together for over 15 years and we've spent it traveling, backpacking, climbing, skiing, triathloning, marathoning, sailing, eating, and going on as many adventures as possible. We now have two beautiful boys, Sam & Charlie, and we couldn't be more excited about seeing a whole new world through their eyes in the years to come!

Sam's First Hike

Sam went on his first hike today at the ripe old age of 2 months! We took him up Adam's Canyon, which is a pretty trail to a waterfall just north of Kaysville. We only hiked for about an hour, and he slept through the whole thing, but I think he had a great time anyway!

As you can see above, he was so excited about the hike as he was getting into his carseat before we left...

Then his excitement turned into slumber during the car ride there...

And he kept sleeping during the hike...

And here we are all done! Doesn't he look like he had a great time?!

Yes, I was on this hike too. I was actually the photographer. We had some nice people take a picture of the three of us together, but after I saw how truly gigantic I still am I opted not to post the picture of myself. It did motivate me even more to lose the weight though. You may have noticed that my weight loss countdown to the right hasn't changed in a couple weeks, well, unfortunately, that's because I haven't lost any weight! I did join Weight Watchers this week though, so check back next week for an update!

Andy and I have always talked about him inventing an adult version of the baby carrier. There have been many a day in camping trips when I all I wanted to do was what Sam did.

That is one cute kid.

Glad to see you guys are doing well! Hope to see you soon.

Mike - thanks to technology, I was able to read your comment. Too bad you didn't stay at Hell's Backbone Grill. That other place is a bit creepy. But there's another place 1/4 down the road from Hell's Backbone that my friends, Jen and Ed, now run. They are cool folks. And yes, cheapskate, I think you could handle the prices. Think of the extra cost as a "nice vibe" subsidy.

Where did you guys hike down there? That's one of my favorite places on earth...
